Sailing on America's Cup Yacht NZL 41

We at the School of Hospitality & Tourism and the New Zealand Tourism Research Institute (both AUT University) hosted 5th International Coastal & Marine Tourism Congress (CMT'07) in September this year. For some very special people (Editorial Board of my journal "Tourism in Marine Environments", and helpers and supporters of the CMT'07) we chartered a real America's Cup yacht and went sailing for 2 hours. The weather was awesome with sun and plenty of wind. The 17 crew NZL41 had only 5 crew on board, and the rest was done by us. Grinding was a tough job, but I guess they deliberately did not change gears early, so that they wear us out, haha! On board were, in no particular order: Jan Auyong, Richard Titgen, Erlet Cater, David Fennell, Paul Forestell, James Higham, Ross Klein, Kathy Halley, Marc Miller, David Newsome, Mark Orams, Naomi Rose, Jeff Wilks, Rob Altobelli, Alice Graeupl, Glenys Casci, Nancy McIntyre, Linda O'Neill, Viviena Schaaf, Suzanne Histen, Elizabeth Roberts, Jill Poulston, John Hull, Peter Myles, Laure Jodice, Deborah Benham, Kate Rodger, and myself (I hope I haven't forgotten anybody). Needless to say that we had a lot of fun!
